On Wednesday, March 18, at 4:00 pm, Elizabeth (Lisa) Del Buono, MD, will discuss how to provide a market incentive to transition away from fossil fuels, mitigate the worst effects of climate change, and stimulate the economy. She is co-leader of the Northern Michigan chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
The event is open to the public and will be held at the Garden Theater, 301 Main Street in Frankfort. The Stormcloud next door will provide free popcorn, and a convivial place to continue the discussion after the presentation.
For years, Dr. Del Buono has been concerned about how climate change might impact her son’s future. Since 2013 she has worked with the grass roots advocacy group, the Citizens’ Climate Lobby. It focuses on education and empowering citizens to develop on-going, respectful relationships with members of Congress. It has become such a large part of her life that she reduced her medical practice.
The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
