Redistricting reform in Michigan is vital, whether you are a Republican, Independent, Democrat, or Other. What’s at stake is the voice each of us has in Lansing and Washington, D.C. The fair representation of that voice counts. Partisan redistricting, or “gerrymandering,” is the deliberate drawing of district boundaries to favor one party or another. It makes districts dependably Democrat or Republican. “Safe” districts make politicians less accountable to voters, which then leads to increased partisanship. It’s time to break that cycle, before districts are redrawn after the next census.
Count MI Vote is the leading grassroots organization supporting the Voters Not Politicians Ballot Committee.
