How great to have two of our favorite peeps coming to HQ Saturday!
We’ll welcome longtime activist, child educator, and now-Independent candidate Cathy Albro; and our great state Representative Betsy Coffia, whose seat is utterly crucial for holding our Lansing majority.
Cathy is running is running for Benzie’s 104th District House seat against Rep. John Roth as an Independent, for reasons she’s happy to explain in person. Hers is a low-key, person-to-person effort to make sure Mr. Roth has a credible, articulate opponent pointing out just how poor his policies are…and just how great hers (and ours!) are.
Betsy, of course, rocked the state in ’22 by winning her House seat, making sure Dems grabbed the majority there and put us in charge in
Lansing for the first time in 40 years. She’s now under fierce attack from utterly slanderous, dark money TV ads and is fighting back with her classic, aggressive, grassroots ground game.
So join us in person at 9:30 for our legendary coffee klatch–complete with homemade breakfast goods and lots of friendly people. At 10 it’s a raft of campaign news and a big bonus: lots of yard signs–from township trustees’ all the way up to Kamala and Tim’s. We’ve got ’em all, now, folks…in good supply. You will not leave empty-handed!
Then Cathy and Betsy will share both the good and the challenging news from their campaigns and answer your questions.
Can’t make it in person? Do Zoom with us, then. We’ll be looking for y’all at 9:30, as well, for our virtual, Zoomed coffee klatch–we’ll catch up with friends, make some new ones maybe, and then join up with Headquarters to hear from Cathy and Betsy.
Please pre-register right here, right now, to avoid last-minute digital drama. Our Zoombot will send you your very own personal link to the meeting, guaranteeing you a front row seat with an unobstructed view.
One way or the other, do show up Saturday if you can…we’ll have more than enough inspiration to go around.

Saturday Bonus: Meet Our Probate Judge and His Opponent
Judge John Mead is wrapping up his 12th year as Benzie County’s probate judge. He’s being challenged this year by Benzie County’s assistant prosecutor, David Egeler.
We won’t be endorsing either candidate, but interest in this race seems high, since we are getting lots of questions about it.
So they’ll both be at HQ Saturday morning, as well. You can pump paws with ’em, ask questions, and hear their brief presentations in between reports from Cathy and Betsy.
It’s yet another reason to show up or, short of that, Zoom with us!
And if you’re Zooming, please do pre-register now and give Zoombot, who dislikes being bored, something to do.
We’re so glad to be working with all y’all to save democracy, elect good Dems, and make America a better place for everyone!
And…as Michelle (and so many others) are saying, Please Do Something! We’re working hard on winning, building the Big Blue Wave that will keep our democracy alive!
