Kyra Bolden and More Good News Sat. May 18!

Join us this Saturday morning when we gather at Headquarters starting at 9:30–with our signature warm smiles, hot coffee, and homemade breakfast treats. Beyond all the goodies, we’ll enjoy some serious catching up with our back-in-town snowbirds.

Our 10 a.m. community and Party announcements will pack a big, good-news punch. Seems that all our “off season” work is paying big dividends: Super-encouraging canvassing news, quite the list of local Dem candidates, and news from Benzie school board’s Matt Smith.

Then, the main event: MI Supreme Court Justice Kyra Harris Bolden.

Bolden, appointed by Gov. Whitmer, is now up for election to a full, eight-year term. Keeping her–and our crucial progressive majority–is a top Democrat priority. We’ll talk about helping her win–and, no, it ain’t mostly about money…not at all!

So….It really is time to get in gear with us, and the best way to do that is show up Saturday morning at HQ!

Can’t make it in person? Well, then–register now for your own, personal Zoom link. Our ever-devoted Zoombot will get back to you quicker than you can say “I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.”

A Grand Opening in Honor

What began on a summer day in 2010 as a grassroots, volunteer-driven move to unite a community has center stage Saturday.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, the future turns into the present–a present for all of us.

It’s the Grand Opening of Platte River Park! The Honor Area Restoration Project (HARP), the organization leading this wonderful vision and now happy reality, is unveiling the stunning, 52-acre property—now called Platte River Park—at 1 p.m. Saturday.

It boasts 1,500 feet of river frontage and a wealth of untapped opportunities for folks of all ages to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation at its finest, year-round. So many donations from local residents and businesses, plus grants from agencies and philanthropies, along with a whole lot of constantly patient, smart work have brought an extraordinary gift to Honor and Benzie County.

HARP and village officials invite us to join their community in celebrating the brand new park and its the kayak launch, picnic tables, boardwalk, fishing platforms, blueberry patch, and trails.

It’s rain or shine, and we’d love to see you there!
