It’s time to help some of Benzie’s deserving students!
So we sure do hope you’ve put next Monday, April 29, 4:30 to 8 p.m. on your dance card.
That’s when, for the sixth straight year, we’re raising money for trade school and college scholarships for as many as four graduates of Benzie Central and Frankfort/ Elberta High Schools.
To help make that happen, our good friend Zee Amenson, proprietor of Beulah’s Cold Creek Inn, has put together a fine fundraising dinner menu for the evening.
You can order roasted rosemary butter chicken, fried perch, or linguine primavera–along with mixed greens, baked or garlic smashed potatoes, rolls, chocolate cake, and coffee tea or a soft drink.
The price: just $35, along with a cash bar.
Ten bucks goes toward our scholarship fund, and we’ll also have a donation table so you can kick in a bit more if you like.
Our goal is to award four $1,000 scholarships.
As we write this, our scholarship awards committee is doing their homework, looking over entries from seniors who responded to our call for their essays about “The Common Good.”
