THE 2021 BENZIE DEMS’ BLUE-SUCCESS MENU!
Still feeling the joy that poured out of Washington on Inauguration Day?
Good! We’ve got lots more work to do and need your help here, in Benzie, building another great election, in 2022. We gotta keep Governor Whitmer, Secretary Benson, and AG Dana Nessel in Lansing! So hold onto that joy; act now to keep us moving forward.
Your Benzie Dems executive committee put together this action menu: one that’s all about success. Peruse it carefully, select items you like, click on the email address near the bottom, tell us which items you like, and hit send. We’ll get back to you soon.
_____ TOWNSHIP LOOKOUTS Assist Precinct Delegates, remotely attend township or county commission meetings, track what seems important, and share with Township Telegraphers. (See below.) (Commitment: One evening a month, by phone or Zoom.)
_____ TOWNSHIP TELEGRAPHERS: Use our cool, new communications capabilities to relay your local Lookout’s updates to your township’s Dem neighbors. (Maybe a monthly meeting—led by a Precinct Delegate.)
_____ BOARDS & COMMISSIONS Get involved in local government by volunteering for a county or township board or commission, or by joining a local non-profit. You’ll help the community and be an informal, unannounced Benzie Dem ambassador. For some examples, visit the Benzie County website for openings on local boards and commissions; visit benzie.org/giving-back-to-benzie/ to see dozens of non-profits that would welcome you. (Likely one meeting a month, remotely, plus some involvement in projects.)
_____ BENZIE WATCHERS: Help track the policy proclivities and determined dodging of Jack Bergman, Jack O’Malley, or Curt VanderWall to keep our new, Letters-to-the-Editor group properly informed. (An hour or two every few weeks. Current Watchers will show you the easy-peasy way to keep up.)
_____ LOCAL LETTER-WRITERS: We’re co-ordinating with the 101st District’s other counties on subject matters to get a minimum one letter a week into our Record Patriot and other local papers, often using our Watchers’ stuff. (Write one letter every few months. We’re happy to help conceptualize, co-ordinate & edit.)
_____ SOCIAL MEDIA MAVENS: Help post and/or dig up good stuff for our Facebook page and your own social media platforms. (15-20 minutes every 3-4 days.)
_____ GET BACK JACKS!: Contact the two Jacks’ (O’Malley and Bergman) corporate donors and urge them to cancel their support due for refusing to admit that our election was fair: (We supply research; you write letters and/or make phone calls.)
_____ CALENDAR GUY/GIRL: Up North and Lansing Dems do lots of Party events; we forward you the details and you whip ‘em into brief announcements we include in our e-mails and on our Facebook and Web site pages. (An hour or two a week.)
That’s it! So, what looks good to you?
Please let us know via email.
Just send your druthers to us at [email protected].
Thanks so much for all you’ve done. Now let’s do some more!
